Hull City Hall
Saturday 20th January: The band headline a charity a concert at Hull City Hall. It’s billed as the “Tribfest Taster” and features ELO Tribute “Rockaria” as well as UB40 Tribute “Rats in the Kitchen”.
“Tribfest” is an idea of Eddy’s to run a Glastonbury style music festival featuring the cream of the crop of the UK and Europe’s top Tribute Bands in East Yorkshire during the Summer. The taster concert is a huge success with well over 1000 people attending.
Wednesday 31st January: The Beautiful South announce they are to split up almost 20 years after forming. Within hours of the news being announced, Eddy is called to comment on the news by various media outlets and appears live on BBC1’s Look North talking about the split.
Thursday 1st February: Eddy is the featured studio guest for over an hour on BBC Radio Humberside who are running a special programme on The Beautiful South in the wake of the bands split.
Saturday 18th and Sunday19th August: Tribfest is here! Eddy’s festival comes to fruition and The Beautiful Couch headline the Sunday line-up. The weekend is a huge success with over 18 Tribute Bands taking to the stage. The success of the inaugural festival prompts Eddy to turn it into an annual event.
Friday 24th August: The band perform at Humberfest, Barton-on-Humber where they support The Commitments and Deacon Blue. Also appearing over the weekend are Top Tribute Band “Badness” as well Go West, ABC and Tony Hadley.
Friday 2nd November: The Beautiful Couch perform their last gig at The Springhead Pub. It is there 10th gig at the venue.
Other gigs of note for the band in 2007 are two appearances at The Oxford Arms in Newcastle-under-Lyme, a performance at Merchants Adventures Hall in York, a cabaret gig at The Queens Hotel in Barton and an appearance in Halifax.
